My issue is that, after 1880, I find nothing at all to indicate she is still living. If she has married, there is no longer any way I can trace her by her name of Mary Seisinger (spelled a different way on each census) and since I have not a clue who she might have married, I can't find her through her marriage name. It is as if she has vanished. She would be our Great Great Aunt and I am annoyed that I have lost her.
It is interesting to me to note that there are neighbors of the Bobbs named Seitzinger, with a son George, aged 18, living with them. There is nothing to indicate but happenstance that Mary might be George's child. I wonder, too, how Mary was treated by her peers, by her parents, by her grandparents; sometimes children born out of wedlock were not treated well.
I do like mysteries, but I have no idea how I can ever solve the question of Mary's further existence after 1880, or the question of her paternity. Not that I won't keep trying; perhaps I will serendipitous-ly (if this is not a word, I think it should be) come across information that will point me in a new direction.
BTW: you can comment on this post, here, as well as the pictures on the site. Once posted, though, I am not sure they can be undone. But, go ahead, be brave.
